The Orange County Historical Society is a 501(c)3 non-profit, educational organization whose mission is to promote an understanding of the history of Orange County, California, by collecting, preserving, and interpreting that history and its relationship to the region beyond.
The Historical Society will be dedicated to acquiring and sharing knowledge of the history of Orange County, California with Society members and the community at large.
In pursuit of this vision, OCHS will:
• Identify, collect, and preserve materials related to the history of Orange County with consideration for other areas of the State when appropriate.
• Encourage excellence in research, documentation, and the interpretation of such historical materials.
• Provide public access to historical materials in its collection.
• Promote discussion and discourse of historical subjects among its members and the community.
