Volunteering with the Orange County Historical Society provides an array of opportunities and keeps you connected with those working to preserve Orange County’s cultural heritage. If you have some time to share, we can promise you great opportunities to learn and practice your skills as we move toward our centennial.
Opportunities abound! Volunteers are the foundation of this 90-year-old organization and several projects are always underway behind the scenes. We invite you to jump in!
Some Ways to Volunteer
Help plan and organize special events
OCHS hosts special events like its annual dinner, History Hikes, Mystery History Tours, and possibly contributing to the monthly meetings. Interesting projects await creative organizers.
Help organize and catalog the OCHS collection
We need assistance identifying and organizing our collection of photographs and 3-D objects. This is a fun, never-ending project. In addition, it might entail conducting additional research (on the photographs and items), scanning photographs, and possibly, donor relations.
Join the Membership Committee
There’s always room for those enjoy meeting new people—while keeping track of everyone. Let’s build our membership.
Are you a writer?
As we move toward increasing our visibility, we’ll need help with writing and creating brochures, press releases, and flyers. Of course, we’re always looking for those who don’t mind writing an article or two for the newsletter, or for the more ambitious—the OCHS’s journal, Orange Countiana.
Whether you are looking for a monthly commitment or an occasional assignment, we would like to hear from you. Contact us at: volunteers@orangecountyhistory.org.
