In 1931, the Orange County Historical Society began its publication program with the first volume of the Orange County History Series, designed and printed by the famed Fine Arts Press of the Santa Ana High School and Junior College. Two more volumes of the History Series followed in 1932 and 1939.<\/p>\n
In 1973, the Society launched a new journal of local history,\u00a0Orange Countiana<\/i>. During the next two decades, five issues were published, featuring articles on a wide variety of topics by many of Orange County\u2019s best historians. (See\u00a0Orange Countiana –\u00a0<\/i>List of Authors and Articles\u00a0<\/a>for a list of contents in each volume.)<\/p>\n In 2010\u00a0Orange Countiana<\/i>\u00a0returned as an annual publication, issued each autumn and included with all regular memberships. (See\u00a0Orange Countiana<\/i>\u00a02010 to Current Year\u00a0for a synopsis of contents in each volume and biographical information about the authors.) It is our hope that this journal will promote a growing interest in researching, writing, and learning more about the rich history of our county.<\/p>\n We are always seeking articles of up to 5,000 words about any aspect of the history of Orange County, its communities, and its people. Articles should be written with a general audience in mind. Footnotes and bibliographies are welcome, but not required.
